Dartford Crossing Tolls and Medway Council

Earlier today, the Medway Messenger published a news item about Medway Council’s feelings regarding the proposal to raise the Dartford Crossing tolls for cars.  The information about the tolls is not new but, for me, this was the interesting point:

  1. Several councillors voiced their dismay in response to the government’s plans, but Cllr Tom Mason (Con) said: “We’re only consultees. I expect our replies will probably be binned.”

Councillor Mason is clear that he believes Medway Council’s (Conservative) views will be ignored by the coalition (mainly Conservative) government.

Has Councillor Mason wondered how the residents of Medway feel when we are (constantly) ignored by Medway Council?
