No Need for Nuclear

Radiation Waring SymbolSince the Liberal Democrats’ u-turn, the Green Party is the only major UK-wide party opposing new nuclear power stations.

Caroline Lucas, the Green Party leader and MP for Brighton Pavilion, has urged party members to join the No Need for Nuclear campaign and suggested we help by taking actions such as writing to our MPs asking them to sign early day motion 557 (an early day motion – or EDM – is a formal motion submitted for debate in the House of Commons – few are actually debated but instead they are used, for example, to draw attention to campaigns).

None of Medway’s MPs – Rehman Chishti, Tracey Crouch and Mark Reckless – have signed EDM 557 so please help the campaign by taking a little time to write to your MP urging them to sign.

For details about why new nuclear power stations are not required, you may like to read No Need for Nuclear’s well researched and referenced arguments.
